She stood like a limp doll while he dried and put her to bed. She was already asleep when he joined her in bed. Vessa felt the weight of Lynwood in bed. She moved until her bottom was cushioned his groin. Lynwood gritted his teeth against the feel of her press against him. A thought went through his head. Would he be wrong if he took her now? Instead, he pulled her close, his chest to her back holding her while sleep claimed him.

Lynwood had risen early. He sat in the chair watching Vessa sleeping, wondering what it was about her that captivated him. He wanted her with him, there was no doubt about that, but he didn’t love her? He cared about her. He hardly knew her, but he knew her. Lynwood smiled. She was beautiful, intelligent, refined, and cultured. He loved her in his bed and enjoyed her company when they were out. He had to admit she made him feel things he has never felt with any women.

Lynwood shook his head. What spell have you cast upon me my beautiful little witch? He said softly. He went to her.

“Vessa, come on baby wake up.” He said softly, rubbing her cheek.

“Mm… my headaches, please be very quiet.” She moaned.

In his hand, he had a glass of water and some aspirin.

He left the bed and opened the draperies. Sunlight spilled into the suite, its rays shining brightly in her face. She covered her face with the blankets.

“What are you trying to do Lynwood, blind me?” She moaned.

“Come on Vessa, get up we need to talk,” he informed her sitting beside her on the bed. She moved the blanket and peeked out.

“Come on baby,” he said handing her a glass of water and aspirin. Vessa sat up squirting. She took the aspirin.

“Okay Lynwood, talk.” She took the aspirins and placed the glass on the bedside table.

He smiled at her. Her hair a tangled mess around her shoulders and still she was appealing to him. He sat on the bed beside her.

“Vessa, what happened last night can never happen again. Do you understand me?” Lynwood stated firmly.

She nodded, “I’m sorry. I was hurt and angry.”

  “Sh…,” he interrupted.

“I know that, and am sorry I didn’t take your calls.

Vessa glanced up at his handsome face with deep, unwavering eyes. “Why didn’t you take my calls?”

He shrugged. “It's not important now.”

“Lynwood let me say this, if you ever want to stop what we have started, don’t lie to me, just tell me when it’s over. I can accept that, it is the lies I cannot deal with, because I trust you, and it would be hard for me forgive you. I do realize that what this is won’t last forever, just when you grow tired of me just tell me, please, and I’ll extend the same courtesy to you.”

A frown creased his brow when an indefinable emotion clutched at his heart. You will always want me Vessa; he thought arrogantly smiling slyly.

“Deal,” he put his hand out, and Vessa placed her hand in his. “I’m glad you came to spend time with me,” he added grinning.

“Who said I did?” She asked.

  “You did,” he answered.

She smiled. “I’m not to be disturbed for two weeks, can you put up with me for two weeks.”

“Let’s fly to the Bahamas.” He stated smiling.

  “When?”

  “Now.”

Vessa looked at him, and at that precise moment, she knew she had fallen in love Lynwood Holland. Vessa rose from the bed more uncertain about them than she previously was.

“Okay.” She said smiling concealing the uncertainty in her eyes. She bounded out of bed naked, took care of her toiletries and came back to climb on the bed. On her knees with her body pressed to his back, arms around his shoulders, she nibbled enticing on his ear.

“Do you have anything on under that robe?” She whispered in his ear.

Lynwood smiled. “Open it and see.”

She untied the belt and pushed it from his shoulders. Her eyes trailed down his broad back to his tapered waist. She kissed his shoulder.

  “Mm… You’re beautiful,” she moaned.

Lynwood reached behind him and pulled her until she was on his lap looking directly in her eyes.

“I don’t ever want to be too far away from you Vessa,” he replied huskily before his mouth covering her hungrily. Her arms circled his neck pulling him closer to her.

Lynwood swung his legs to the bed and lay on his back, Vessa lying on top of him. Her mouth was warm and moist from his kiss as her lips left his traveling down to his chest. Her tongue brushed against his nipple, he hissed. Her lips traveled lower her lips tasting his firm ridged abs.

“Vessa,” Lynwood said breathlessly. Vessa lifted her head.

“Sh.…,” She said to him as her mouth travel lower, her hair brushing his body while trailing to his point of pleasure.

Her lips found his manhood with a tender kiss he barely felt. Gently she held him in her hands, gently stroking up and down.

“Vessa,” he moaned, “Do you know…”

“Sh…, “she said to him and continued to torment him with her hands. She looked at him; his eyes hooded with desire. Without a warning Vessa's tongue moved over the tip of his hardness.

  “Vessa, you don’t know what…”

She smiled and kissed strong manhood again only this time she opened and took him inside her mouth. Gently she sucked him her tongue lick up and down the side of his manhood. Repeatedly Vessa mouth loved him. Lynwood’s hands tangled in her hair, and Vessa loved the sounds of pleasure escaping his lips.

If she didn’t stop, he was sure to lose control. Lynwood pushed his hand through her hair and made a fist pulling her mouth inches from his.

“Where did you learn to do that?” He asked his mouth a breath away from hers.

“I read about it in a book,” she said sheepishly.

  “What book?”

“Oral Sex and How to Please Your Man.”

  Lynwood chuckled. “Why?”

Her eyes heavy with passion, she purred. “Did I please you?"

"I loved it,” he said softly before his mouth took her passionately.

With his hands on her hips, he lifted her then guided her down on his pulsing manhood.

Vessa gasped. Slowly he moved her up and down his length until she caught the rhythm. Her eyes closed savoring the feel of him inside her. She adjusted her legs and lay down on top of him using his shoulders for leverage, she moved up and down on him.

Lynwood went still, there was no way he could have moved if he wanted to. She had complete control over his body. She continued to stroke him with her body; he could feel her contracting around him but was powerless because she had him totally and utterly at her demand. She was pulling from him what he fought so hard to control, and was losing the battle.

“Vessa,” he moaned loudly. She bought her legs up on either side of him. He flipped her to her back.

“It’s my turn,” he said looking down at her.

Her legs circled his waist while moving deeply inside her only to pull out just to the very edge of her slit then slowly move deeply inside her. When he thought she was about to fall apart, he would pull out just to the edge.

“Lynwood, please,” she moaned, “Don’t tease me,” she breathed out.

Lynwood hands slipped beneath her lifting her and sunk deep into her allowing her to find pleasure and then joining her. They lay on their backs, both silent.

“Vessa, what have you done to me?” He asked softly, his tone like a caress. Vessa remained silent.

“Vessa?” He frowned and leaned up on his elbow to look at her.

  “You‘re crying.”

“Damn you, I love you,” she said getting up from the bed and went into the bathroom.

Stunned Lynwood lay back down, her the words echoing in his head. Lynwood could feel a panic rise in the hollow of his abdomen.

She returned and lay beside him noticing the stunned expression on his face.

Vessa chuckled. “Don’t panic Lynwood; I know you don’t
love me, it's okay, I know it was not part of our arrangement and when it's over so will my love be,” she assured him.

What was he going to do now? Lynwood asked himself. He desired her there was no denying that, but love her, impossible. He would enjoy Vessa for two weeks in the Bahamas then he'd to let her go; it was that simple. Could he let her go? He wondered.

  Chapter Five

Lynwood went into Ron’s office and sat heavily on the sofa. Sitting at his desk Ron looked up from his papers.

“What are you doing here; I thought you were spending another week in the Bahamas with Vessa?”

“She believes I'm on an extended business trip.” He said gruffly.

“Why?” Ron said impatiently. Ron looked at Lynwood sullen face. “What's wrong with you?”

“Vessa thinks she loves me,” Lynwood admitted.

Ron smiled. He and Izzy hoped that would happen. Vessa and Lyn were happy together.

“That’s good, right?” Ron asked hopefully.

“Hell no that’s not good, how in the hell do I respond to that.” Lynwood blurted out coming to his feet.

Ron stood anger in his voice. “What the hell is wrong with you man, one minute you bitchin’ about her leaving in the middle of the night, you go rescue her from herself, now she says she loves you and run like a scared little girl.”

“Wait a minute Ron; you know what happen in college.”

“Get over it,” Ron turned from his friend disgusted.

“You’ve been seeing each almost a year now, one of you were bound to fall in love with the other, me and Izzy had our doubts with you and Vessa being two strong willed and arrogant people, but it looks as if Vessa has a heart after all, you don’t if you say you care nothing for her.”

Lynwood opened his mouth to interrupt.

“No man, listen to yourself; either you love her or you don’t, it’s that simple, so admit you don’t and leave her alone before you hurt her. On the other hand, admit you can’t love her, anyway Lyn be a man about it. She deserves that much.”

“I can’t, not yet,” Lynwood declared.

“Yet?” Ron repeated. “When is it a good time Lyn when you’ve had your fill of her, when you’ve used her all up, when do you think you can?” Ron’s sarcasm evident.

“Don’t make it sound like that; she wants to be with me.”

“Yeah, because fool that she is, she loves you.” Ron said shaking his head disapprovingly.

“Just let her go Lyn. It’s not fair,” Ron said then paused. “Did you know she fell in love with you the first moment she saw you,” Ron shook his head. “She loved you, and didn’t even know you were an asshole.”

“If I had known that…, it doesn’t matter its over.”

“She’s a great person, you just don’t know what you have yet, and when you do it will be too late.”

Ron shook his head disgustedly. “And she gave you her virginity, stupid, stupid girl.”

“So how do I deal with this?” Lynwood asked, in dazed exasperation.

“Get out Lyn, you’re a stupid man.”

Lynwood rose and left. He decided he would just have to avoid her until this blew over. She believed he was on a business trip; he just won't have any contact with her until she was over him. That would be the best solution to this unwanted situation. He never had a problem getting rid of an unwanted relationship in the past. She will get tired of him ignoring her calls, and she will just go away, as the others always did. What Ron didn’t know was he was seeing Bea again.

Vessa sat on the examination table waiting for her doctor to return. For the past two weeks, she had been throwing up so much it left her weak. She thought that maybe she caught an illness when she and Lynwood went to the Bahamas.

Vessa had not heard from Lynwood in about two months. She had tried to reach him, but he was always unavailable. They enjoyed the most glorious two weeks she has ever had and loving him more now than she ever did. It was the most glorious time of her life. They had planned another week; unfortunately, Lynwood was called away on business.

Business, she mused. She has indeed been neglecting hers. She returned to work, only to take off more time because she had caught a stomach virus or something, so here she sat waiting for her test results. She smiled happily. She missed Lynwood terribly; maybe she’ll convince him to come to New Jersey for a weekend when he returned from his business trip. Her desire to see Lynwood was overwhelming. She knew he was engaged with business, but she missed him so much, and the numerous times she called would sometimes be lost or no response. If she knew exactly where he is, she would surprise him by showing up at his hotel room.

The doctor returned to the examination room.

“Well Vessa, I have discovered what's wrong. You’re pregnant.” The doctor stated.

  “Pregnant!” She repeated.

“About two months along, I venture.”

“Pregnant,” Vessa repeat in utter disbelief.

“I never considered I’d get pregnant.”

“You will carry the child?” The doctor asked.

“Of course,” Vessa replied without hesitation. “Pregnant,” she repeated, and this time she was smiling.

“We’ll start you on prenatal vitamins and schedule your next appointment; you can get dressed now.”

Vessa smiled delighted. “Thank you, Doctor.”

It had not actually hit Vessa until she had gotten home. She laid her hand on her still flat tummy. An unfamiliar joy rose in her. She had a little being inside her. Someone she could love her whole life and could love her in return. She sighed. Lynwood’s child was inside her. Her happiness was complete.

Ron just looked at his friend through the window of his office. Lynwood had started working incessantly. He managed to avoid Vessa for the past couple of months. He didn't care that Ron thought he was making a tremendous mistake by avoiding her.

Lynwood simply told him to mind his damn business. He was even back to dating a series of women, just to get Vessa out of his system.

Ron entered his office. Lynwood was appeared to be going over some contracts ignoring him.

“Lynwood have you decided to call Vessa yet, you know she’s been calling. She’s even called me, now I’m lying to her.”

“You spoke to her?” He said brusquely.

“No, I had my assistant lie.” Ron admitted.

“Lyn this is wrong, and you know it.”

“Ron don’t start this again.” Lynwood replied impatiently.

“Vessa doesn’t deserve this Lyn, she a good person, you’re the only man she's known. The worst part is she trusted you with the most important parts of her.”

“What?” Lynwood asked not looking at Ron.

  “Her virtue and her heart.”

“Leave me alone, Ron I mean it, it’s done, and she’ll get over it.”

Ron shook his head; he was not done with Lynwood. Maybe he could talk some sense into him.

“You disappoint me Lynwood, if you’re scared of love, its okay, I understand that, but to blatantly avoid someone just to hide from it is cruel.”

“Do you think I care what you think Ron? I can’t deal with this now, get out!

“Okay,” Ron said shaking his head, “You’re a bastard.”

“I am seeing Bea again,” Lynwood blurted out.

Ron stared at his best friend with disbelief. “I don’t believe this,” Ron chuckled dryly.

“You discard the most beautiful woman you have ever had the pleasure to know for that black widow Bea, it boggles the mind!”

“I didn’t ask for love from Vanessa, all I wanted was an affair without the love; she made the rules,” Lynwood raged. “I should have realized she was too naïve for unattached affair. God she was still a virgin,” he groaned.

“So tell me this Lyn, why didn’t you leave well enough alone, when she disappeared from you after that one night.” Ron asked disgusted with his friend.

“Simple, I still wanted her,” Lynwood res
ponded with a shrug of his broad shoulders.

Ron shook his head. “I never knew you could be so cold Lyn. Be a man about it Lynwood, tell her that it’s over, don’t take the coward's way out, make a clean break, anyway you look at it, it's going to hurt her.”

“I can’t,” Lynwood said abruptly. “I still want her, but not her love or any woman’s love.”

  “Except Bea,” Ron replied.

“Bea is not interested in love, I can deal with her she doesn’t expect it from me.”

“If you ask me, you never got over Bea, I guess seeing Bea with another man in bed, on the day you were to propose wasn’t enough to realize Bea is a treacherous witch who still has a hold on your heart. Yet, knowing how it feels to be hurt, you are still going to destroy Vessa. You are a bastard Lynwood.

  Lynwood did not respond.

The door to Lynwood office swung open. Ron could smell her before he saw Bea sauntered over to Lynwood pressing her body against him her lips pressed passionately to his. Ron turned away disgusted. It sickened him that Lynwood was with Beatrice Thomas, or whatever her name was now. Bea was the reason for the hardened, cold man that stood before him. Ron never could understand the hold Bea had over him. Maybe she had him rooted if a person believes in that sort of thing. Lynwood with his arrogance and rough demeanor was still a sucker for Bea. Each time she was back in Atlanta and between marriages, she came crawling to Lynwood with her tail between her legs. Lynwood would fall for her sob story about how awful her husbands were to her. Ron shook his head bemused.

Ron turned to see Lynwood untangling Bea’s arms from around his neck when the phone rang. Lynwood moved to the large desk in his office. Ron watched Bea wiped the corners of her mouth a smug look on her face.

“Oh, Ron I didn’t see you there,” she purred.

“Hello Bea,” Ron replied coolly. “That webs busy at work I see,” Ron replied sardonically.

Bea almond shaped brown eyes hardened for a brief moment, and flickered away. A rehearsed smile pasted on her mouth.

Bea chuckled haughtily. “Oh Ron, you are not still upset about what happened in our college days?” Bea pouted. “That happened many years ago, and Lyn has already forgiven me, why can’t you?
